Â鶹ÊÓ´«Ã½»Ó³Av To Host First USA-Sanctioned Cycling Race at an HBCU
OnÌýApril 20, 2022ÌýSaint Augustine’s University (Â鶹ÊÓ´«Ã½»Ó³Av) will host the Â鶹ÊÓ´«Ã½»Ó³Av Short Track MTB/CX Invitational, the first USA-Sanctioned Cycling Race at an HBCU. The event takes place at 5 p.m. at Emery Gymnasium. Approximately 100 cyclists have registered to participate.ÌýÌýIn April 2020, Â鶹ÊÓ´«Ã½»Ó³Av launched the first HBCU cycling team in the country through its School of Business, Management, & Technology. Approved and registered byÌýÌýto compete in the collegiate club Atlantic division against dozens of other schools in the Southeast, the team is coached by professors Umar Muhammad and Dr. Mark Janas, both of whom teach sport management courses at Saint Augustine’s University. The team began competition in Fall 2020.Ìý
